If you think summer in Cyprus ends in August, it really doesn’t.
September is still hot, sunny and very much beach weather. The sea is warm, evenings are pleasant and you can still spend most of the day outside without feeling like summer is over.
The main difference? The biggest summer crowds slowly start to disappear.
And honestly, that makes September even better. 😎
What is Cyprus like in September?
In Paphos, September still feels like proper summer.
Days are usually hot, evenings are warm and the sea is still perfect for swimming. You can spend the morning at the beach, explore later in the day and sit outside for dinner at night.
You do not need autumn clothes. Bring summer clothes, swimwear, sunscreen and comfortable shoes.
Basically: pack for summer. 👙☀️
Why September can be better than August
August is great, but it can also be… a lot.
Hotels are busy, beaches are packed and everywhere you go there are families on school holidays, overtired children screaming and equally overtired parents screaming back at them. 😂
By September, things slowly calm down.
There are still tourists, restaurants are open and Paphos is definitely not empty — but the whole atmosphere feels a little more relaxed.
You still get the summer.
Just with fewer people fighting over sunbeds. 😅
What can you do in Paphos in September?
Pretty much everything you would do in summer.
You can swim, take a boat trip, visit Akamas, explore archaeological sites, spend the day at the beach or visit traditional villages.
It can still get very hot around midday, so longer walks are better in the morning or late afternoon.
